Out & About

Blaencwmcoy is on the edge of the village of Cellan, in the Teifi Valley. Although the holiday cottage is in a very rural community, we are only 2 miles from the University town of Lampeter, itself a small market town. It is a University town and is well served with two supermarkets and lots of small local shops and several cafes and restaurants.

We are in a beautiful part of Wales, ideal for indoor and outdoor activities. We have provided comprehensive information in the cottage about local places of interest and activities which may be of interest. There are also plenty of Ordnance Survey maps of the local area to help you. Please use the links on the right for a taste of some of the things available to a visitor to this part of West Wales.

The Lampeter Town Website has plenty of information on the town itself and is a good resource for visitors new to the area.

The village of Llanddewi Brefi , made famous as the home of "The Only Gay in the Village", Dafydd Thomas and Trethowan's Gorwydd Caerphilly Award-winning Cheese, is a short drive to the north, en route to the market town of Tregaron and its famous Talbot Hotel and Welsh Gold Centre.

To the west is the beautiful Georgian town of Aberaeron. Many of its houses are listed and there are several excellent restaurants in and around the town.

To the south are the pretty market towns of Llandeilo and Llandovery, on the edge of the Brecon Beacons National Park.
